Make the Back Pact

You don't have to lobby on Capitol Hill or launch a media campaign to be an effective Patient Advocate. In fact, you don't even have to leave the house. All you have to do is make a Back Pact.

As a community, we have a responsibility to serve as a voice for patients with degenerative spine conditions. The Better Back Alliance is a nationwide network of patients, their loved ones, and medical professionals committed to increasing awareness of chronic back or leg pain and representing the interests of spine disorder patients to legislators. By joining the Better Back Alliance and becoming a Patient Advocate, you can help patients reclaim their lives, while at the same time establish our community as a powerful vehicle for change.

Legislators, insurance companies, and the media play a significant role in shaping healthcare and public policy. Unfortunately, decision makers may know very little about chronic back or leg pain or the latest treatment solutions. Patient Advocates direct attention to policy or practice issues by communicating with elected officials, insurers, and the media.

Ten million people suffer from chronic back or leg pain each year in the U.S. Through letter writing, phone calls, and direct contact with the media, Patient Advocates help ensure that issues affecting spine disorder patients are brought to public attention.
