While sleeping is refreshing and relaxing for most people, for some it exacerbates existing back problems, causing additional  pain. Since you can’t give up sleep, try minimizing  discomfort with these sleeping positions:

1. On your back with your spine in a neutral position. You can also place a pillow under your knees and/or a rolled towel under your back.

2. On your side with a pillow between your legs. Let your arms lie out in front of you.

3. On your stomach with a pillow under your lower abdomen, but no pillow under your head.
