Professional Basketball Hall of Famer Bill Walton visited Saint Joseph East this afternoon, to speak about the prevention and treatment of back pain. The former NBA star who played for the Portland Trail Blazers, San Diego Clippers, and Boston Celtics, battled back pain for years, and at one point, said the pain got so bad that he contemplated suicide. He says surgery saved his life and today spoke of his chronic back and leg pain issues, along with Dr. James Rice, who discussed the XLIF procedure that is offered at Saint Joseph East to treat back and leg pain. Thanks to all who attended to listen to Bill Walton and Dr. Rice, and a special thanks to NuVasive and The Better Way Back for sponsoring this event!
