Life Prior to Surgery: For six months, Scott battled to tolerate and endure his pain in order to be able to function at work and at home.
“I kept falling at work because of the pain in my legs,” says Scott.
Finally, after the pain had increased to an excruciating level for two agonizing months, Scott decided to look for help. He was not a rookie when it came to searching for treatment; prior to this episode, he had utilized chiropractic care, epidural/steroid injections, and surgical intervention with little success.
“I did not have a good experience with back surgery in the past, so I can understand the fear,” Scott explains.

Situation Today: Scott underwent his XLIF surgery in October 2014. Upon waking up, he quickly realized that he had feeling back in his legs. “My surgeon came in and asked how I was doing. I couldn’t believe it! He had fixed my back!” Scott was able to get out of bed and walk the same day as surgery, but it did not stop there!
“When I went to my post-op appointment, I was literally skipping down the hall with joy. I finally had relief!” Scott is now back to work and back to helping out around the house. “I feel very blessed to be where I am at. Don’t be afraid. Get the surgery done so that you can get out and enjoy your life.”
